LMN Silicone
Product Description
LMN Silicone is a one-component Low Modulus neutral silicone sealant, that forms flexible, shrink-proof and resistant joints in reaction with the atmosphere moisture. It contains agents preventing the development of the majority of mould, fungi, algae, etc. It is resistant against high temperature differences and UV radiation, and its physical properties remain unchanged for many years. Its excellent neutral curing system makes the silicone perfectly adhesive to various foundations, both porous and non-porous,

APPLICATION INSTRUCTION:
Joint Design: Joint width of LMN Silicone should be 6mm. For joints from 6 to 12mm wide, a seal depth of 6mm is recommended. For joints wider than 12mm, a width to depth ratio of 2:1 should be used, up to the maximum depth of 12mm. Where fillet joints are required, it is recommended to apply minimum 6mm of sealant bite to each substrate. For deeper joints use Back-up Rod. Surface Preparation: Contact area must be dry, clean, free from dust, oil, grease, bitumen and ice. Metals must be sound. Remove old materials residue, especially loose and not sufficiently adhering coatings. Clean and degrease the surface with acetone, isopropanol, ethanol (metals, glass) or detergent (plastics). Dry the surface before silicone application. To ensure neat sealant edges mask the areas adjacent to joints with Masking tape. In case of application on solvent-based wood varnish and unknown substrates, prior testing is a prerequisite.
Application: Cut off the top of the threaded adapter. Screw the nozzle tip on and cut off at a 45 angle, with the diameter equal to the gap width. Place the cartridge in the gun and inject the joint with the sealant. Apply the material with sufficient pressure to the joint sides to ensure immediate adhesion. The applied sealant should be smoothed immediately with a wet spatula, tool or finger (with a wooden spatula soaked in soapy water for best result). Remove masking tape right after smoothing. Cleaning: Clean while fresh. After curing, it can be removed with Silicone Remover or mechanically.
LMN Silicone should not be used:
- do not use silicone on bituminous substrates, substrates based on natural rubber, chloroprene or on building materials which might bleed oils, plasticizers or solvents
- silicone is not recommended for sealing joint between natural stones such as granite, sand stone
- While designing the joint, slight discoluoration of CSS 764 on some substrates due to the influence of weather conditions must be considered − silicone should not be used on sensitive metallic surfaces such as cooper and its alloys or silver steel of mirrors
- silicone is not recommended for continuous immersion in water as the changes in physical characteristics may occur
- silicone should not be applied in aquariums
- silicone is not recommended for structural glass
- do not use silicone in totally confined spaces because the sealant requires atmospheric moisture to cure
- silicone is neither suitable for food applications, nor for medical use. The product is neither tested nor represented as suitable for medical or pharmaceutical uses.
