How does it work?

An isocyanate tank is combined with a polyol tank. Two hoses connect the separate tanks with the spray gun. The nozzle which clicks onto the spray gun allows uniform mixing of the two basic components of the insulating polyurethane foam. The package has a metal handle allowing you to move the kit while working. The total gross weight of the kit is approximately 17kg. This kit provides all the necessary components for optimal insulation results, so you can tackle any project with ease and confidence.

Please check the technical specification sheet for approximate yields (see Downloads below for more info).

Kit Weight: approx 17Kg

2022 FORMULATION UPDATE: To adhere to the latest European regulations, the formulation has been improved by substituting HFC with HFO, chosen for its low Global Warming Potential (GWP).

IMPORTANT NOTICE
From 24th August 2023, all users of PU products must be trained and certified on how to safely handle products containing diisocyanates. Trained users can continue using the products. Find out more about free training here.

INTRODUCING THE FROTH-PAK INSULATION SYSTEM AND ITS ADVANTAGES

The Froth-Pak insulation system is a professional-grade solution for swiftly and effortlessly producing high-quality closed-cell PU foam directly on-site. The system is conveniently packaged as a kit with two pressurized tanks connected to a dispensing gun via hoses. Within minutes, this system generates a frothy substance that solidifies into a robust structure. The resulting foam delivers exceptional air sealing and insulation properties, adds structural reinforcement, reduces noise, and resists moisture and smoke.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FROTH-PAK 180 AND FROTH-PAK 600?

The main difference between Froth-Pak 180 and Froth-Pak 600 is in the approx. surface coverage. For example, when applied at a thickness of 25mm, Froth-Pak 180 covers approximately 18m², while Froth-Pak 600 extends to around 55m². As foam thickness increases, the estimated surface coverage decreases.

CAN THE FROTH PAK INSULATION SYSTEM BE USED BY BEGINNERS?

Although Froth Pak is designed to be user-friendly, as part of safer working initiatives, it is now mandatory for all users using for business or company purposes to receive training for REACH Compliance, regardless of whether you are using it at home or on-site. All users of PU products must be trained and certified on how to safely handle products containing diisocyanates. Training is provided free of charge by REACH, click for more info

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FROTH-PAK NOZZLE STANDARD AND FROTH-PAK NOZZLE FAN?

The Froth-Pak Nozzle Standard and Froth-Pak Nozzle Fan are specialized nozzles designed for precise PU foam application. The Nozzle Standard has a standard spray pattern, while the Nozzle Fan is a fan-shaped spray pattern, offering broader coverage.

HOW RAPIDLY DOES THE FOAM HARDEN?

The foam from the Froth-Pak insulation system typically hardens into a robust structure within approx. 5 minutes, ensuring swift and efficient application.

IS FROTH-PAK SUITABLE FOR PROFESSIONAL USE?

Froth-Pak is designed specifically for commercial use with closed-cell PU foam, straightforward on-site application, and its capacity to deliver outstanding air sealing and insulation in the tightest most difficult-to-reach spots. Moreover, the foam provides structural support, noise reduction, and moisture and smoke resistance, making it an ideal choice for professional applications.

DOES FROTH-PAK OFFER STRUCTURAL BENEFITS?

Yes, it does. The closed-cell PU foam forms a rigid structure, enhancing the structural integrity of the areas it is applied to, bolstering strength and durability.

CAN FROTH-PAK RESIST MOISTURE AND SMOKE?

In a word, yes, it does, making it well-suited for environments where these factors are an issue.

WHAT IS THE INSULATION VALUE?

Froth-Pak boasts a Lambda value of 0.022 W/mK. A lower Lambda value indicates superior insulation capability. The absolute insulation value, expressed as the R-value, depends on material thickness. Froth-Pak's R-value is 0.45 m² K / W per cm thickness. Heat conductivity is quantified using the K-factor, which is 1/R.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU NEED TO GET SETUP?

Everything you need is supplied in the kits, including spanners and vaseline. Please ensure you wear appropriate clothing, safety glasses and masks.

HOW DO I CHOOSE BETWEEN QR AND SR?

QR (quick-rising) insulation foam reaches its final volume in 30 seconds and can be cut within 5 minutes. It is suitable for horizontal and vertical surfaces and is usually used in residential applications.

SR (slow-rising) foam reaches its final volume in 60 seconds and can be cut within 8 minutes. It is primarily used in injection applications, including industrial, OEM, and speciality applications. When utilizing SR foam for injection, beware of the pressure increase during expansion. If you are looking for an SR solution, we currently stock Izotup Injection Expanding DIY Foam Kits.

IS FROTH-PAK FLAMMABLE?

Froth-Pak will burn, but it does not expedite or increase flammability. Once the fire is extinguished, the foam will not continue to burn. Froth-Pak is Euro Class E certified.

IS FROTH-PAK SUITABLE FOR OUTDOOR USE?

Polyurethane foam is not suitable for exposure to UV light. Exposure to UV rays will result in discolouration. Constant exposure to sunlight will eventually result in the deterioration of the foam and its fragmentation. We recommend painting or coating the foam with a UV-resistant substance if used outdoors.

ARE THE HOSES AND SPRAY GUNS REUSABLE?

Yes, it is necessary to flush the hoses to avoid blockage, but if the kit is cleaned and maintained it is possible to store and reuse the kit.

WHAT'S THE EXPIRY DATE OF THE FROTH-PAK TANKS?

The cylinders have a shelf life of 15 months.
